Zigbee Wireless Project

At the recent Embedded Systems Conference in Boston (06), Rabbit Semiconductor was running a special on the Zigbee development kits for $199. I couldn't pass it up, but I also haven't had the time to work with them at all. The kit contains 3 Maxstream XBee OEM Modules, which are essentially RS232 bridges with some analog/digital IO on each module. I haven't done much more than opening the box to examine the contents.
I was looking around the Microchip website and noticed that they have several Zigbee wireless chips and dev kits, along with free source code for the Zigbee stacks! Once this project gets underway, I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch development over to that platform. What I'm envisioning is extending the Embedded Ethernet Project to be wireless mesh through Zigbee.
If anyone is interested in working with this hardware, feel free to contact me.
