A VMWare virtual appliance is essentially a VM that is archived and ready for you to download and setup on your own machine. As long as you have any of the VMWare products loaded on your machine, you can easily download the virtual appliance and open it. From there, you simply log in, reset up the network (since your MAC address will have changed), and you are good to go.
