About Me

I'm an overall technology and computer geek. I've been working on computers since I was seven years old, and got enough into it to run a BBS at the age of thirteen. At the same time, I was taking apart every electronic device in the house. I'm sure it absolutely drove my parents crazy, but it's turned out to be really interesting to me all this time. I thank them for being so patient with me during those times.

I work full time in the IT industry doing anything from systems administration, network administration, technical architecture, etc. My projects have ranged from VMWare to Voice over IP to Storage Networking to ... In addition to that, I work as an independent consultant for enterprise companies doing similar projects and security related projects (NIDS, HIDS, NIPS, VPN, WLAN, ...)

My electronic experience has been for the most part self taught. I learned a lot from an electrical designer when I was younger, and have learned the rest from books and the net. I'm not an expert at electronics, but do understand digital / analog design, serial communications, etc.

When I am not working on technology, my hobbies include (but are not limited to): Sailing, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, Scuba Diving, Tennis, Kayaking, Cycling, Skiing, Snowshoeing, X-Country Skiing, Camping, Racquetball, Movies, Food, Wine, Salsa Dancing, and well anything relatively geeky.
